Wowas! Something to Smile About…Doncaster's Original Live Music Festival Is back #DoncasterIsGreat

Something to Smile About festival is back with with one of the most SICKENING line-ups on the grassroots festival circuit.
With over forty bands and musicians from around the country (even one travelling from America)  music lovers this ones for you!
The Smile team have really set the bar high with a  strict”no cover band policy” just pure orginal live music. That ticks are box. Ding! Ding!
Now based at the Hatefield Outdoor Activity Centre with an idyllic woodland backdrop, there’s a family friendly capsite with 49 pitches including electric hookup, amenities block and kids play area.
Brad Dear is opening the main stage with his husky voice and folky sound –we love this gritty tune “Special Brew” we’re looking forwards to hearing this fella.

Friday also sees the return of the musical genius Funke & The Two Tone Baby who played at Smile  in 2015.  He’s one-man sonic mash-up of blues, beats, breaks and guitar. We love him.

On Saturday the hidden area and stage will be revealed – it will be home to ‘Tribenation Arts Collective’ – seasoned performers at festivals who will run workshops and activities including drumming circles, willow weaving, stilt walkers, outdoor mural and much more.
The headline act will be none other than Ferocious Dog – another band returning from 2015 – who have subsequently become the first ever unsigned band to sell out iconic venue Rock City in Nottingham.

Other acts over the weekend include Ben Ottewell of 90s super Indie band Gomez. Our firm favourites are Wille and the Bandits an exeptional blues, rock  trio carving a place for themselves in Europe’s music scene, developing a reputation as one of the best live acts around. These guys are legends. We love this track Mammon…

Other amazing acts include Nucleus Roots, Counting Coins, The Bar-Steward Sons of Val Doonican and Doncaster’s own Smoking Beagles.
