Are you aged between 12-18? From South Yorkshire? Yes. Good. You are invited to take part in a stunning array of master-classes and workshops from the region’s top performers and theatre makers from 18–30 July at Cast.
This year’s Performance Theatre Camps include nationally acclaimed writer/director Matthew Bugg (Writer/Musical Director for Cast’s acclaimed Pantomime 2014-2016), actor Stacey Sampson (Channel 4’s This Is England), actor Jow Rose (Dancehall), and choreographer Sarah Belk. This stellar line-up of artists represents the very best in Doncaster talent, and aims to nurture the next generation of local artists onto screen and stage.
Taking inspiration from South Yorkshire stories and local issues, Performance Theatre Camp students will create a new work to be performed on Cast’s professional 620 seat main stage, whilst the Technical Theatre Camp (led by Cast’s Technical Director Matt Young) will use their newly found skills to work behind the scenes during the live performance itself. Sarah Clough, Cast Artistic Associate said: ‘Our Summer Theatre Camps are an exciting opportunity to bring local people into the heart of Cast, to have a brilliantly fun and artistically excellent experience. By opening our doors and spaces, the Theatre Camps provide a fantastic opportunity for Doncaster participants to develop their artistic skills and work with theatre professionals in our state of the art theatre.’
Cast Summer Theatre Camps are available to all young people from ages 12 and up, and evening masterclasses for those aged 18+, running from 18 – 30 July – find out more on 01302 303 959 or by visiting castindoncaster.com.
