March Culture Round Up 2020

Spring is in the air, and that means more blossoming talent is blooming all over Doncaster!


Performer Danny Mellor makes his return to CAST on 10th March with the gripping Undermined (7:15pm £12.50) . Based on true stories from the 1984 minor’s strike, this one man show will make laugh, cry and angry all at once. Agatha Christie’s iconic murder mystery (and the longest running play in Theatre History) The MouseTrap will be bringing its UK tour from 23rd -28th March (7:30 & 2:30pm. £24 – £26). As scandalous secrets come to light, life for a once proud group of socialites will never be the same again.

Over at The Doncaster Little Theatre,  Pardigm Impact Network will be presenting their Talent For Impact Showcase on 11th March (7pm. £5) –  an opportunity for local talent to sing, dance and perform their pieces for the first time.

This month also sees the return of the b:heard event (25th. 6pm. £3) An evening of incredible stories from our past, as told by our neighbours.


The New Fringe have moved to their new home of Portland Place. It’s now a hub of creativity and support for established and upcoming local artists and only costs £10 a year to become a member!

The Point (DARTS) have a hands -on Art Club for your little artists every Tuesday (aged 8+. 5:15 – 6:15pm & 6:30 -7:30pm ) join ceramic artist Angie Hardwick to explore ceramic styles, and make your own ceramics using clay and glazing techniques. 

Cusworth Hall Museum and Art Gallery have the  Pit Sense Mining Heritage Project until the 31st August (FREE), which focuses on stories from our mining history told by local communities Denaby, Main, Woodlands and Stainforth/Hatfield.

The Enchanted Way are running a four week course on Basic Witchcraft starting on 15th & 23rd March running every Sunday or Monday  (£80 for the four weeks). These spellbinding evenings will cover how to cleanse, cast a circle, work with crystals and plants & practicing craft magic. 


Doncaster Youth Jazz Association is the perfect way for the younger generation to expand their passion for music, backed by  strong reinforcements in areas such as sight reading, rhythmic understanding, intonation, balance, blend and leadership through part independence.

Doncaster’s Quirky Choir host term time rehearsals at Darts (The Point) every Wednesday evening 6.45pm -8.45pm. No experience required, just a love for singing! £4 per person.

Doncaster Rock Choir is hosted every Monday night from 16th September till December at 8pm the Nostell Place, Bessacarr. No need to have had any training – just come on down and have a sing along to classic songs like ‘Don’t Stop Believing‘ and ‘Footloose’. £25 per membership.

The Point  have the monthly workshop In The Moment (2nd & 4th of each month) – a dementia friendly workshop focusing on making music and storytelling as well as Singing For Memory (5th & 19th).


Helm is a coworking office space where a community of creatives meet, work and collaborate together to help businesses, running workshops on the last Tuesday of the month.
